I am away from the weather office and can briefly update here.

Humberto became the fastest hurricane in recorded history and roared in at a surprisingly impressive 85MPH north of Galveston, TX and just west of the TX/LA border.

T.D. 8 is now Tropical Storm Ingrid. This may intensify to a 60-65MPH storm but is only a couple days from very intense shear. Ingrid in all likelihood will be a flash in the pan goner.

TS Humberto to produce very heavy rain in Houston/Galveston, TX vacinity. Strong rip currents and gusty winds also expected.

Tropical Depression Eight will miss the Windward and Lesser Antilles Islands as well as PR and Hispaniola. Interests in the Bahamas, Florida and the SEUS should monitor additional information. http://www.midatlanticwx.com/hurricane.htm

Invest 92L (3rd in 12 hours) located NE of Windward Islands is being moniored for potential development that could affect the Bahamas, Florida or SEUS coast.

New Invest located in south-central GOM is now “90L”. Initial models weak except the CMC that brings a significant storm near Galveston then NNE across Louisiana. Discussion at Scott’s blog Sunday morning.

33 knots at the surface. Center temperature 1° warmer than outside. Low is closed off. That’s a Tropical Depression! NHC may go with it at 8 or 11PM tonight…or…may wait and see if become truly tropical in nature. Next recon flight tomorrow morning. My guess is this will be a Tropical Storm on Thursday night. New Invest 97L in the Bay of Campeche could become a TD prior to moving in over MX.

Low Pressure of the SE US coast is now new Invest 95L. Disturbance is off-shore ESE of Hilton Head, SC…due South of Morehead City, NC. Some development possible as the Low drifts to the SOUTH.
