New Invest 92L located SE of the Yucatan Peninsula is being tracked by our Premium Service hurricane model maps. A special statement from the TPC/NHC is online at our HurricaneCenter: http://www.midatlanticwx.com/hurricane.htm
This is NOT expected to develop into a tropical cyclone (see Scott’s blog for discussion) however a non-tropical surface Low is forecast to enter the GOM and cross Florida before heading off the SEUS coast. This system has the potential to bring storms and heavy rain to Cuba and the Florida Peninsula this weekend.

Recon found esentially the same temps inside and outside the core (center) this morning and the season’s first named storm has arrived as a SUBtropical storm (characteristics of both a warm and cold core cyclone). Next hurricane hunter flight should be in around 8AM on Thursday.
Andrea is behaving like a tropical storm…multiple nearby ship reports indicate sustained 40-45MPH winds with gusts to 50MPH.

Gale Center off the SEUS Coast is now Invest 90L. Our Premium Service Model Map subscriptions won’t be available for another couple of weeks but we are tracking this Invest and will post maps at Scott’s Blog: http://www.midatlanticwx.com/blog.htm
Storm appears to be taking on some tropical characteristics and could become Subtropical Storm Andrea in the next day or so. Interests from the east Florida coast to the Delmarva need to monitor this system for strong winds and coastal flooding. If the storm continues to tighten, wind and rain will spread inland over GA and the Carolinas.
Visit the blog and our HurricaneCenter (http://www.midatlanticwx.com/hurricane.htm) for more. Quick updates will appear here on our news feed.
